Nadine at TEDx in Geneva photo by Claire Belmontby beCause CEO Nadine Hack – I love that quote from Rainer Maria Rilke.  Every spring, as new life blooms, I think about how all cultures honor rebirth and regeneration.  Christians celebrate Easter about resurrection and new hope; Jews celebrate Passover about liberation and renewal; Muslims celebrate Mawlid al-Nabi honoring the Prophet Muhammad’s birth; Buddhists celebrate Purnima, the birth of Budha; Hindus celebrate Baisakhi, the start of their new year.  This spring what are you doing that is a new blossoming for you?  I rejoice in the new experiences life continues to offer me.  I gave a TEDx talk in Geneva “Adversaries to Allies” and you can click to watch it now.

My guests on a Trust Across America program on Voice America I hosted that you can hear here were four brilliant pioneers in the field of how to create, measure and protect trust on the Internet: Drummond Reed and Marc Coluccio, co-founders, Connect.Me; Xin Chung, CEO, TrustCloud; and James Varga, CEO, miiCard.

With Irene Natividad and Corporate Women Directors International (CWDI) I opened the stock market in Zurich at the SIX Swiss Exchange that you can see here and then the group of 75 discussed the status of women on boards globally.  It was International Women’s Day with the theme “Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum.”

The website for my company beCause Global Consulting was revitalized: check it out here.

But most exciting for me is that our two oldest grandchildren will graduate from college in May and our youngest one from middle school.  And we are preparing to celebrate these special occasions with them now that my beloved has regained full health and strength.

Each day life moves on and with all its joys and sorrows it is, indeed, an amazing blessing! Please share your stories about what life has brought to you and you have brought to life!

Spring brings a renewed sense of birth as the flowers and trees bloom we want to start fresh. Spring cleaning in our closets and in our offices brings about a renewal in itself as we start fresh projects.

I love Spring, it has always been one of my favorites times of the year and my father’s birthday fell on the first day of Spring. He has been gone now almost 20 years, but when the flowers bloom I still remember him in the garden planting his vegetables for us. He tended to his garden as he did his family taking care of us in all the ways he knew.

My spirit is renewed to continue to fight for the rights of those who are abused by those who are more powerful than they are and to speak up for those who are disabled and need special help. I put my blog post which shows a recent ruling by the 9th circuit court regarding such a situation. Nadine you inspire so many of us.

My garden is going to bloom in abundance this Spring and Summer. My goal is to share the food with the homeless shelter and sell at the senior citizen to independent seniors. I am hopeful….

just like too much fertilizer on your plant will produce a beautiful bloom and then kill it, we are becoming socially obese and totally unsustainable. Everything is blooming indeed, except for our vital space and survival resources, which are shrinking and spoiling…

Good to hear life is “blooming” for you and your familly :)
I’ll not comment the rest I agree upon, because your last paragraph is the most important.
I’ve seen your TED talk and will certainly write a post about it … inspiring.

@John – I like your statement “We are becoming socially obese and totally unsustainable” – I’m saying it since a while …
This is why trust on the Internet is a must.

    Hi Nadine,
thank you for sharing your “undivided” life of public events and private/family alike. Best wishes for the health of your beloved.

    I just faved the talk
    “Adversaries to Allies …”
and added it into our playlist

Bridging the wide gaps is the hardest –
“bringing together diverse stakeholder to find common ground and achieve great goals”
    Great talk!

I will check out the other interesting topic “create, measure and protect trust on the Internet” – so far I used connect.me a bit – the other two services look promising.

    @ John Forgach
“we are becoming socially obese and totally unsustainable”
The word “we” can be interpreted in some different kinds.
I agree, that there are bad side effects of digital sociability, some people might weaken or even lose real friendships, whlle being busy with “managing the graph” of superficial relations; – but it is again _we_, who can reflect and adjust, balance it.

Nice post for this new day ! The Korean have a term Hurang Do (sp?) which means “the flower of youth” a beautiful phrase one does well to look for.. flowering recklessly is another aspect of that.. going crazy with the love of life !

In Persian and Turkish, the word for spring is Bahar. It’s also used in parts of South Europe where I’m from, in its full meaning: a tree blossoming, decking itself out in flowers, implying a pride in its expansion and beauty, a sort of: Here I am, see me bahar!

I love new beginnings. I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to start a second life from scratch, and every spring I feel the privilege of a new beginning, the license to decide what to keep and what to grow. I love seeing people decide do it, and thrive – in full bahar.

Beautiful metaphor and great thoughts, Nadine. It is a reminder to see the earth and life in blooming terms…we’re still snow-covered here and the blooming season feels far away…I think I’ll try to “force” some blooms…inside and out! Thanks, Stephanie

Lots of beautiful new beginnngs, Nadine! I’m looking forward to see all the fruits of your work, the seeds of which you are sowing in this spring season!

And, with Rilke, I wish you joy in all your endeavors:
“Only in joy creation happens. Happiness, on the other side, is just a promising and interpretable constellation of things that already exist; joy, however, is a marvelous increase of what already exists, a pure growth out of nothing.”
    ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

    Dear Nadine
Congratulations on your TED. This is really good stufff.
This week I watched some news about Obama in the Middle East and I am sure he took some classes with you, now you need to invite some Middle East leaders and hopefully we are going to have peace in that region.
Today I have read an article about Mr. Clinton that is quite related to your speech once he truly believes that the way to have a better world in the future is through cooperation among ONGs, governments and companies to create more and more shared responsibilities, values and opportunities
    Warm regards

Thank you for greetings for spring season wishing new things come to life. I also wish you a very happy spring season with great events.
Some events bring happiness and some events change life.We do not have control over many events but we can control our reactions to such events.Life is full of joy if we believe and take in that spirit. Spring season symbolizes regeneration, generates hope in life.

Yes, strange is that a seed planted more than 2 years ago comes to fruition this spring. That is my first fiction book, Pursuit, a metaphysical fantasy. It tells the story of three lives in three time periods, mysteriously connected by an antique book. Their lives share similar experiences as they discover their inner power. This book is my first attempt to bring personal development issues into a story for easy learning in an entertaining and inspiring story. See the trailer: https://wemakeit.ch/projects/pursuit-a-novel

Thanks Nadine for sharing. You have a lot of personal new beginnings to celebrate. I wish you blossoming summer.

Spring is the signal of the beginning of the new year for me. A renewal, a new hope, a new promise.

Thanks Nadine for the invite. I have seen your TED Talk and appreciate the wonderful message.

@John Fargach, @Willi Schroll, I agree with you. I wish it were easy balancing digital sociability with other concerns like digital trust among other things.

Everything is blooming most recklessly — I love the beauty of language! I wondered, though, if I should understand a second meaning in the word “reckless” (I do see our American lifestyle and the over and mis-use of resources as reckless), but I think not. This is a celebration of spring and its natural (and sustainable) abundance. Thank you for this inspiring message and congratulations on an awesome presentation at TEDx.

    Dear Nadine,
Just wanted to say thank you for your TED talk – it’s truly amazing.
It is strange but sometimes it happen to see a video or receive a message just in the time when you needed it most.
Someone have told me a few months ago “Life beggins at the end of your comfort zone!” and I am trying to go out of my comfort zone and start living.
And I would like very much to tell you next time – “I blossomed out this spring!”.
    Thank you for your support!
