Nadine B Hack President beCause Global Consulting at IMD Lausanne SwitzerlandI’ve just been invited to become an Executive-in-Residence at an extraordinary international executive education business school in Lausanne, Switzerland, IMD.   While visiting there, I met with their president, deans, program directors and faculty and am deeply impressed by the depth and breadth of their offerings.  I especially appreciate their emphasis on “real life, real learning.” In collaboration with their remarkable team, I will focus on responsible leadership and corporate social responsibility.  I welcome your input on specific issues you think I should explore and I will continue to post as this new work unfolds.

Among their 100 MBA candidates, are 60 nationalities.  Similarly, the thousands of executives who participate in their specialized programs hail from myriad countries and their international faculty is comparably diverse.  IMD is ranked by The Financial Times 1st outside the US and 2nd globally, #2 worldwide by The Economist and 3rd globally in Executive Education by Forbes.  Go to IMD for a comprehensive overview.

Congrats Nadine! I’ve been meaning to tell you that I am reminded of your leadership and management expertise in every session of my “Intro to Management” courses. It’s often like revisiting my experience at beCause, from “Lofty Missions & Down-to-Earth Plans” to 360 reviews. And then there are the papers I write about mission-centric work and organizational communication…

I’m sure you’ll assemble great resources and discussions while strolling along Lake Geneva.. Mazel Tov!

Dearest Nadine, How marvelous for you and how wise and fortunate for IMD….I think back to twelve years ago and how generous you were to WEDO and Bella’s legacy. Your thinking, understanding and how you have framed our greatest future challenges has been so far ahead of so many institutions, it is encouraging to see such a progressive one like IMD “snap you up”. While the “Big Shift” as I have been calling it, has been gaining momentum–rather slowly–it feels like someone flipped a light switch in the last eighteen months to two years; and from all corners of the planet and from such a wide spectrum of companies and institutions….wham! You might also look at Tomorrow’s Company in London which is kindred spirit. I was there last week for their annual lecture, co-hosted by Linklaters. Tony Manwaring has a vision similar to yours. One point especially encouraging is seeing how the walls and silos of different sectors and institutions are opening to allow the kind of crossover and interaction that for so long you have said is needed. This is some of the most promising “new turf” for corporate social responsibility. I am certainly seeing (pushing for this) on the corporate boards where I serve(d).
I will especially look forward to your future writings and if I can ever be of assistance, never hesitate to ask. Congratulations! All the best my friend and as ever, Peace, Dianne (founding chair emeritus, Plains Justice)

    Dearest Nadine:

Thank you for sharing the wonderful news on your important appointment at the prestigious IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. I am beaming with pride on your choice to accept such an amazing position. As my mentor in once-in-a-lifetime profound experience that helped shaped my entire professional life, I am now in Qatar working on an energy forum that will take place in May with featured guest of honor, the Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar!

Good luck with writing the book Nadine, I hope you will keep us posted on the day we can line up and have it signed by the author!!!

Even though I am not in New York, I know that New York will miss you, but as we say, you can take a New Yorker out of New York, but you can never take New York out of a New Yorker. So with God’s speed and until we speak again, I bid you love and peace.

    Respectfully yours,

    Raghida
